Apart from lack of funding and other factors – the prime reason for colleges to prevent hiring faculty – the university is not able to find a ‘qualified candidate’. Faculty shortages are resulting in schools turning away qualified applicants, despite the high demand for nurses.

Nurses will need to pursue higher degrees to become registered nurses as it will become the new norm in the future. In recent years, nurse training institutes have struggled to keep up with the demand for qualified nurses. This shortage of trained nurses has led to an increased demand for the nurses training programmes. As more people are interested in becoming nurses, the need for qualified faculty members as nurse educators’ jobs has also increased. To meet the increasing demand for nurse training, institutes must find ways to attract and retain qualified faculty members and motivate the trained nurses towards doctorate degrees.
